How do I add image or code options to a question?
Use the manual question form for advanced option types and supporting passages.
Use manual question creation and enable Advanced Option Types for image-only, text-and-image or code-snippet answer options. Excel import is for standard plain-text content.
Use richer options when the answer depends on a diagram, an image comparison or a code sample. The question’s extra-details field can hold a passage or supporting instructions.
Add the question
- Open your quiz’s Add Question action, or My question bank → Add Question for reusable content.
- Enter the question title and any supporting extra details. Choose Single Choice, Multiple Choice or True/False as appropriate.
- Enable Advanced Option Types and choose the option format offered by the form.
- Fill/upload each option. Keep at least two usable options; use Add a New Option or remove unneeded ones as permitted.
- Select the correct option, or the full correct set for Multiple Choice. Add a clear explanation, check active status and save.
Useful information
Choose the right option type
- Text only: The default for ordinary written options.
- Image only: Use an image as an answer choice.
- Text and image: Combine a label/description with its image.
- Code snippet: Present code as an option for a programming/technical question.
Question bank classification
When saving in My Question Bank, select its own category, subcategory and difficulty. Import the selected bank question into the quiz later; storing it in the bank alone does not add it to a test.
Review before sharing
Confirm each image/code belongs to the intended option, correct selections match the final option order, and the explanation is readable. Inactive questions are not shown just because the quiz is active. Use only material you own or have permission to use.
