Learn how quiz access code works, how teachers can use it for private quizzes, and how it helps protect monthly learner limit.
Quiz access code helps teachers control who can attempt their quizzes on Quiz Pathshala.
If a teacher quiz has an access code, learners need the correct code to attempt that quiz.
If a teacher quiz does not have an access code, it can be treated as a public quiz, depending on other quiz settings.
A quiz access code is a code set by the teacher for a quiz.
Learners must enter the correct access code before attempting that quiz.
This helps teachers keep a quiz available only for selected learners.
Quiz access code is the main difference between public and private teacher quizzes.
A public teacher quiz does not require an access code.
Learners can attempt it without entering a code, as long as other access rules are satisfied.
A private teacher quiz requires an access code.
Private quizzes can still be visible on the educator profile page, but learners need the correct access code to attempt them.
Access code is useful when teachers want to control quiz attempts.
You want only selected learners to attempt the quiz
You want to share the quiz with a batch or class group
You want to share the quiz with institute learners
You want to avoid unwanted quiz attempts
You want to protect your monthly learner limit
You want better control over quiz access
Teacher plans may have a monthly learner limit.
If all quizzes are public, unknown or unwanted learners may attempt the quizzes and use the teacher’s monthly learner limit.
When the monthly learner limit becomes full, new learners may not be able to attempt the teacher’s quizzes until:
The learner limit resets in the next monthly cycle
The teacher upgrades the plan
A higher learner limit becomes available
Using an access code helps teachers share quizzes only with intended learners.
Teacher-created quizzes may appear on the Educators page or educator profile.
If a quiz requires an access code, the quiz listing may show an access code badge or access code requirement.
This helps learners understand that they need a code before attempting the quiz.
To add an access code:
Login to your Quiz Pathshala account
Switch to Teacher role
Open the Teacher Dashboard
Go to the Quiz section
Open the quiz create or edit form
Find the quiz access code setting
Enter the access code
Save or update the quiz
After saving, learners will need the correct access code to attempt that quiz.
A teacher may change the access code later from the quiz edit form.
To change the access code:
Open the Teacher Dashboard
Go to the Quiz section
Edit the quiz
Update the access code
Save the changes
After the code is changed, learners may need the new code to attempt the quiz.
To make a quiz public, remove or disable the access code from the quiz edit form.
After removing the access code, learners may be able to attempt the quiz without entering a code, as long as other quiz rules allow access.
Teachers should share quiz access codes only with intended learners.
Share the code only with your selected learners
Do not publish the code publicly if the quiz is meant to be private
Avoid adding the code in the quiz title
Avoid adding the code in the quiz description
Change the code if it is shared with the wrong people
Use different codes for different batches when needed
To attempt a quiz that requires an access code, learners usually need to:
Login to Quiz Pathshala
Use Learner role
Open the Educators page
Open the educator profile
Select a quiz that shows an access code requirement
Enter the correct access code
Start the quiz if access is allowed
If the code is incorrect, the learner may not be able to attempt the quiz.
If a learner enters the wrong access code, access may be denied.
The learner should check the code and try again.
If the learner still cannot access the quiz, they should contact the teacher for the correct access code.
Access code only controls private access.
Even with the correct access code, learners may not be able to attempt the quiz if other rules block access.
The quiz is inactive
The quiz has no questions
The quiz start time has not arrived
The quiz end time has passed
The learner has reached the attempt limit
Standard Quiz or Practice Quiz is disabled
Live Quiz schedule is not active
Teacher plan or trial is inactive
Monthly learner limit is full
There is a technical or account-related issue
Access code works together with the teacher plan.
If the teacher plan is inactive or expired, learners may not be able to attempt teacher-created quizzes even if they have the correct access code.
To keep quizzes available, the teacher needs an active teacher plan or active trial.
Access code does not increase the monthly learner limit.
It only helps control who can attempt the quiz.
If the monthly learner limit is full, new learners may not be able to attempt the quiz even with the correct access code.
A teacher may use the same access code for multiple quizzes if needed.
However, using different access codes for different quizzes, batches, or groups can provide better control.
Yes. A teacher can keep some quizzes public and some quizzes private.
For example:
Keep general practice quizzes public
Keep batch tests private with access code
Keep institute-only quizzes private
Keep demo quizzes public
Keep special tests restricted
This gives teachers flexibility in managing learner access.
A quiz without an access code can be treated as a public teacher quiz.
A quiz with an access code is treated as a private teacher quiz.
Private quizzes can still be visible on the educator profile page, but learners need the correct access code to attempt them.
Access code helps teachers control quiz access and protect monthly learner limit, but access also depends on quiz status, schedule, attempt limit, teacher plan status, learner limit, and platform rules.
