How do I create and publish a quiz?
Create the quiz, configure its mode, add questions and activate it.
Create details → add questions → review → activate. Category is required; subcategory is optional.
Quiz creation defines the identity and rules; questions supply the content. Keep the quiz inactive while preparing it. The form displays settings for the selected mode.
Before you start: Sign in, switch to Teacher, and open the Teacher Dashboard with an active educator plan or trial.
Create the quiz
- If needed, open Categories → Add Category, enter details and save.
- Open Quizzes → Add Quiz. Enter title, check generated slug and choose category.
- Enable Standard, Practice or Live Quiz. Live disables Standard/Practice and allows one successful submission.
- Configure fields for your mode. Standard/Live use full-quiz minutes, marks, passing percentage, deduction, attempt limit and reveal time. Practice uses per-question seconds.
- For Live, set required start/end times and choose Specific Date reveal strictly after the end.
- Save with Activate Quiz off while preparing questions.
Add questions and publish
- Open Quizzes → View All Quizzes and add/import questions.
- Review active questions/answers and quiz settings. Add a code for restricted participation.
- Enable Activate Quiz, save and check the learner page before sharing.
Useful information
Basic information
Title is the name learners see. Slug forms the URL and is generated from the title. Category organizes the quiz and is required; Subcategory is optional for chapter/topic groupings.
Standard and Live settings
- Time Limit for All Questions: Total attempt minutes; blank means no full-quiz timer.
- Number of Questions to Display: Count to use from available questions; blank uses all.
- Marks per Question: Reward per correct answer; blank defaults to 1. Total marks use the included questions.
- Passing Percentage: Score needed for Pass; required when the mode/form asks for it.
- Negative Marking: Amount deducted per answered wrong question; blank disables it.
- Attempt Limit: Saved submissions allowed per learner. Blank Standard allows repeats under other rules; Live uses one.
Schedule and answer reveal
Standard start/end times are optional. Start delays availability; end stops new starts. Live requires a start/end window and Specific Date reveal strictly after the end. Immediate reveal needs no delay value. For Hour/Minute/Day, enter the delay number; for Specific Date, choose the release date/time. For Standard, Hour with 4 means four hours after that attempt finishes. Read the displayed confirmation, especially for Live: select Specific Date strictly after its end.
Practice and publishing
Practice uses per-question seconds and does not save a regular final result. Standard/Practice can coexist; Live disables both. Activate Quiz must also be on for availability. Review active questions and correct answers, and make your educator profile public if learners should find it through Educators.
