How to view learner attempts and results as a teacher?

Learn how teachers can view learner attempts, filter attempt records, review answers, block learners, and analyze quiz performance.

Teachers can view learner attempts and results for quizzes created or managed by them on Quiz Pathshala.

This helps teachers review quiz activity, check learner performance, identify difficult questions, and manage learner access.

Who can view learner attempts?

Only the teacher or educator who created or manages the quiz can view learner attempts for that quiz.

Teachers cannot view attempts or results of quizzes created by other teachers.

Which quiz attempts are saved?

Quiz result saving depends on the quiz type.

Standard Quiz

Standard Quiz attempts are saved.

Teachers can view learner scores, pass or fail status, attempt history, and answer details for Standard Quiz attempts.

Live Quiz

Live Quiz attempts are saved.

Teachers can view learner attempts and result details after the learner has attempted the quiz.

Learner result visibility may depend on the answer reveal or result reveal settings, but the teacher can review submitted attempts from the Teacher Dashboard after the attempt is completed.

Practice Quiz

Practice Quiz is mainly for quick self-practice and revision.

Practice Quiz results are usually shown immediately to learners and may not be saved as regular attempt records.

Because Practice Quiz attempts are not saved like Standard or Live Quiz attempts, teachers may not see them in saved attempt reports.

How to view learner attempts

  • Review the attempt records

The Attempts button may also show the number of attempts received for that quiz.

Quiz attempt report

After clicking the Attempts button, the Quiz Attempt Report page shows attempt-related details for that quiz.

This page helps teachers review all attempt records and student-wise or learner-wise performance.

Attempt summary cards

The report page may show summary cards such as:

  • Total learners

  • Passed learners

  • Failed learners

  • Pass rate

  • Fail rate

These cards give a quick overview of quiz performance.

Attempt records table

The attempt records table shows learner attempt details.

It may include:

  • Learner name

  • Learner ID

  • Correct answers count

  • Total questions count

  • Marks obtained

  • Total marks

  • Attempt time

  • Time taken

  • Attempt number

  • Block button

What does Attempt Number mean?

Attempt number shows how many times a learner has attempted that quiz.

For example, if a learner attempts the same quiz three times, the attempt number may show 1st, 2nd, or 3rd attempt.

This is useful when multiple attempts are allowed for a quiz.

Review learner answers

Each saved attempt may have a Review button.

Teachers can click Review to open the detailed answer review for that attempt.

What details are shown in answer review?

The answer review page may show full attempt details such as:

  • Quiz information

  • Learner information

  • Email, where available

  • Start time

  • Finish time

  • Time taken

  • Total questions

  • Correct answers

  • Wrong answers

  • Visited but not answered questions

  • Unvisited questions

  • Total marks

  • Obtained marks

  • Marks per question

  • Negative marking status

  • Score percentage

  • Result status

  • Question-wise answer details

Question-wise answer review

In the detailed review, teachers can check every question from the learner’s attempt.

Question-wise details may include:

  • Question text

  • Question ID, where available

  • Question type

  • Options

  • Learner selected answer

  • Correct answer

  • Correct or incorrect status

  • Visited but not answered status

  • Unvisited status

  • Explanation, if available

This helps teachers understand exactly how the learner performed in that attempt.

Quick filters

The Quiz Attempt Report page may include quick filters.

Quick filters help teachers filter attempts by date range.

Available quick filters may include:

  • Today

  • Yesterday

  • Last 7 Days

  • Last 30 Days

  • Custom Range

Using Custom Range, teachers can filter attempts for a specific date or time period.

Score band filters

The attempt report may also show score-based filters.

These filters help teachers quickly find learners based on performance.

Score bands may include labels such as:

  • Outstanding

  • Very Good

  • Good

  • Needs Practice

  • Needs Review

These labels help teachers identify strong learners and learners who may need more support.

Most Incorrect Questions

The report page may show a Most Incorrect Questions section.

This section helps teachers identify questions that were answered incorrectly by the highest number or percentage of learners.

It may show:

  • Question text

  • Incorrect percentage

  • Total attempts

  • Incorrect count

  • Correct count

  • Skipped count

  • Not visited count

  • Rank

This helps teachers find questions that may be difficult, confusing, or need better explanation.

Most Skipped Questions

The report page may also show a Most Skipped Questions section.

This section helps teachers identify questions that learners skipped most often.

It may show:

  • Question text

  • Skipped percentage

  • Total attempts

  • Skipped count

  • Incorrect count

  • Correct count

  • Not visited count

  • Rank

This helps teachers understand which questions learners avoided or found time-consuming.

All Attempts and Unique Learners

The attempt report may include two view options:

  • All Attempts

  • Unique Learners

All Attempts

All Attempts is usually selected by default.

It shows all attempt entries.

If a learner attempted the same quiz multiple times, each attempt may appear separately.

Unique Learners

Unique Learners shows learner-wise unique records.

This is useful when the teacher wants to check how many unique learners attempted the quiz.

If a learner attempted the quiz multiple times, the page may show that learner once with the attempt count.

Teachers can click the attempt count to view attempts made by that learner.

Search and table controls

The report page may include search and table controls.

Teachers may be able to:

  • Search by learner name

  • Search by learner ID

  • Sort attempt records

  • Change number of entries shown per page

  • Move between pages using pagination

These controls are useful when a quiz has many attempts.

Blocking and unblocking a learner

The attempt records table may include a Block button.

Teachers can use this button to block a learner from their own quizzes.

Teachers may also have control to unblock a learner later from the blocked learners section or related dashboard option.

What happens after blocking a learner?

If a teacher blocks a learner:

  • That learner cannot attempt that teacher’s quizzes

  • The learner cannot attempt that teacher’s public quizzes

  • The learner cannot attempt that teacher’s private quizzes even with the access code

The block applies only for the teacher who blocked the learner.

If other teachers have not blocked that learner, the learner may still be able to attempt quizzes created by those other teachers, based on their quiz rules and access code settings.

What happens after unblocking a learner?

If a teacher unblocks a learner, that learner may be able to attempt that teacher’s quizzes again, based on normal quiz rules.

After unblocking, learner access still depends on:

  • Quiz active status

  • Access code, if required

  • Quiz schedule

  • Attempt limit

  • Teacher plan status

  • Monthly learner limit

  • Platform rules

Can teachers see results for private quizzes?

Yes. Teachers can view learner attempts for their own private quizzes if the attempts are saved.

A private quiz requires the correct access code for learners to attempt it.

After learners attempt the quiz successfully, their saved attempts can be visible to the teacher.

Can teachers see results for public quizzes?

Yes. Teachers can view learner attempts for their own public quizzes if the attempts are saved.

A public quiz does not require an access code, but learners still need to follow quiz rules such as schedule, attempt limit, active quiz status, teacher plan status, and learner limit.

Result visibility for learners

Teacher result access and learner result visibility may work differently.

Teachers can review submitted attempts from the Teacher Dashboard after the learner completes the attempt.

Learners may see their result based on quiz settings such as:

  • Immediate result setting

  • Answer reveal time

  • Specific reveal date and time

  • Live Quiz end time

  • Platform rules

Why attempts may not be showing

No attempts may appear for different reasons.

Possible reasons

  • No learner has attempted the quiz yet

  • The quiz is Practice Quiz and attempts are not saved as regular records

  • The quiz is inactive

  • Learners could not access the quiz

  • Quiz start time has not arrived

  • Quiz end time has passed before learners attempted it

  • Access code was not shared correctly

  • Monthly learner limit is full

  • Teacher plan or trial is inactive

  • No questions were added to the quiz

  • There is a technical or account-related issue

What teachers should check

If attempts are not showing, check:

  • Quiz is active

  • Correct quiz mode is enabled

  • Questions are added

  • Quiz schedule is correct

  • Access code is correct, if private

  • Attempt limit is not blocking learners

  • Teacher plan or trial is active

  • Monthly learner limit is available

  • Learners are using Learner role

  • Learners are logged in before attempting

Privacy and responsibility

Learner attempt data should be used responsibly.

Teachers should use result data only for educational, review, and quiz management purposes.

Teachers should not misuse learner information or share private learner result data publicly without proper permission.

Important note

Teachers can view learner attempts and results only for quizzes created or managed by them.

Teachers can review submitted Standard Quiz and Live Quiz attempts from the Teacher Dashboard after learners complete the attempt.

Learner result visibility may depend on answer reveal settings, but teacher review access is available from the Teacher Dashboard for saved attempts.

Practice Quiz is mainly for self-practice and may not be saved as a regular attempt record.

Teachers can use attempt reports, quick filters, unique learner view, most incorrect questions, most skipped questions, and answer review to understand learner performance better.

Teachers can block or unblock learners for their own quizzes. Blocking applies only to the teacher who applied the block, and unblocking allows the learner to access that teacher’s quizzes again based on normal quiz rules.
