Which quiz mode should I use?
Compare saved tests, repeat practice and scheduled Live quizzes.
Choose Standard for saved progress, Practice for repeat revision, or Live for a scheduled quiz with rankings.
Choose a mode based on whether you need a saved performance record, repeat revision or a scheduled ranking event. The same quiz can offer Standard and Practice together when enabled; Live mode follows its own scheduled rules.
Standard Quiz
- Successful submissions are saved in My Attempts.
- Attempt limits and optional schedules follow quiz settings.
- Results can appear immediately or after the configured reveal time. There is no Live leaderboard.
Practice Quiz
- Results appear after submission but are not saved in My Attempts.
- Repeat practice without a saved-attempt limit, subject to access and temporary platform restrictions.
- There is no leaderboard.
Live Quiz
- Fixed start/end schedule; one successful submission.
- The attempt is saved; results/rankings follow the scheduled reveal setting.
- Leaderboard rankings may be visible to other learners.
All modes require sign-in as Learner and valid access. Only modes enabled for that quiz are available.
Useful information
Which one fits my purpose?
Standard suits a test you want to review later and compare across saved attempts. Practice suits revision where you want another try without storing a regular attempt record. Live suits a common scheduled test with leaderboard comparison, so check that you can start within its window.
Check before starting
Read the timer, number of questions, scoring, access requirement and result timing on the selected mode’s page. A saved result may still be hidden until the reveal time; that does not mean the submission failed. Unlimited practice does not override expired access or temporary platform restrictions.
