How does category access validity work for learners?
Learn how learner category access validity works, when access starts, what happens after expiry, and how renewal works.
Learners can purchase access to paid categories on Quiz Pathshala.
After a successful purchase, the learner can access paid quizzes inside that category for the selected validity period.
What is category access validity?
Category access validity means the time period for which a learner can access a paid category after purchase.
For example, if a learner purchases 1 month access for a category, the learner can access that paid category during the active access period.
When does category access start?
Category access usually starts after successful payment and activation.
Once payment is successful and access is activated, the learner can open the purchased category and attempt available paid quizzes inside it.
Where can I see category validity?
Learners can check category validity from the My Categories page.
You can also check billing and receipt details from the Billing Details section, but My Categories is useful when you want to quickly check active category access, remaining days, progress, and quiz access.

To open My Categories on desktop:
Login to your Quiz Pathshala account
Click your role or account dropdown from the navigation bar
Click My Categories
View your active purchased categories
On mobile
To open My Categories on mobile:
Login to your Quiz Pathshala account
Tap the hamburger menu icon in the navigation bar
The sidebar will open
At the bottom of the sidebar, tap your name or email section
Click My Categories

My Categories page
The My Categories page shows your active purchased category access.
It may show details such as:
Active plans count
Available quizzes
Questions count
Average progress
Category name
Plan type
Remaining days
Purchased date
Valid until date
Last activity
Quiz progress
Open Category button
Renew button
Quiz progress helps you understand how many quizzes you have attempted or completed in that category.
As you attempt quizzes, the progress may update based on your activity.
Expired or inactive category access may not appear in the active My Categories list.
What durations are available?
Category access duration may depend on the category and available pricing options.
Available duration may include options such as:
1 month
3 months
6 months
12 months
Available durations and prices may vary by category.
Does learner category access use AutoPay?
No. Learner category purchases do not use AutoPay.
Learner category access is purchased manually.
After the access period expires, the learner needs to renew or purchase access again if they want to continue using paid quizzes in that category.
What happens after category access expires?
After category access expires, the learner may lose access to paid quizzes inside that category.
The learner may still be able to:
View public category details, where available
View free quizzes, if available
Purchase or renew category access again
Paid quizzes will remain locked until access is active again.
Can I renew category access?
Yes. If the category access expires, the learner can purchase access again if the category is still available for purchase.
After successful renewal or new purchase, access can become active again based on the selected duration.
Are free quizzes affected by category expiry?
A paid category may include some free quizzes.
Free quizzes may be available to logged-in learners even without purchasing the category, depending on platform rules.
However, free quizzes inside a paid category may have attempt limits or access restrictions for non-purchased learners.
After purchasing the category, category-related access limits for that category are removed during the active access period.
Quiz-specific rules such as attempt limit, schedule, or temporary misuse-prevention restrictions may still apply.
Paid quizzes inside the category require active category access.
Does one category purchase unlock other categories?
No. Category access applies only to the category that was purchased.
If a learner wants access to another paid category, they need to purchase that category separately.
Repeated quiz attempts and temporary restrictions
Some quizzes may have attempt rules to prevent misuse or repeated rapid attempts on the same quiz.
If a learner repeatedly attempts the same quiz again and again in a short time, a temporary attempt restriction or cooldown may apply for that quiz.
This restriction is mainly used to keep quiz activity fair and protect the platform from misuse.
To avoid unnecessary restrictions, learners should attempt quizzes normally.
For example, if a category has multiple quizzes, it is better to attempt different quizzes one by one instead of repeatedly attempting the same quiz many times in a row.
After the temporary restriction period ends, the learner may be able to attempt the quiz again based on quiz rules and category access.
Can access be different for different categories?
Yes. Different categories may have different prices, durations, and access rules.
For example, one category may offer 1 month access, while another category may offer different duration options.
Always check the category details before purchase.
What if payment is successful but category access is not active?
If payment is successful but category access is not active, check your billing or purchase history first.
If access is still not visible, contact Quiz Pathshala support with available payment details.

Free quizzes, if available, may still be accessible based on platform rules, but some attempt limits or temporary restrictions may apply to prevent misuse.
