How do I block or unblock a learner from my quizzes?
Restrict participation in your own quizzes and restore normal eligibility later.
Use Block from your saved quiz-attempt records. Use Blocked learners → Unblock to remove your restriction later.
Blocking applies to the educator who sets it. Use it carefully for misuse, spam, abuse or unwanted participation in your own quizzes.
Block or unblock
- Sign in as Teacher with active workspace access.
- Open Quizzes → View All Quizzes → Attempts and identify the correct learner account.
- Use Block for that learner and check the updated control/status.
- To restore access, open Blocked learners in the sidebar, find the learner and choose Unblock.
Useful information
What the block affects
The learner cannot attempt your public quizzes or your private quizzes even with the correct code. Your block does not itself block them from other educators or unrelated platform categories.
What it does not change
Blocking does not delete saved submissions, recompute results or promise a freed unique-learner slot. Already-counted saved participation remains part of the applicable plan cycle. Use the plan’s actual count rather than assuming capacity returned.
After unblocking
The learner still needs Learner sign-in, a permitted quiz/mode, any required code, a valid schedule, attempts remaining and applicable plan/capacity. Unblock removes your restriction; it does not override these rules.
