How do I organize teacher quizzes with categories and subcategories?
Create quiz categories and understand their separation from bank categories.
Create a teacher quiz category before creating a quiz. A quiz needs a category; a subcategory is optional. My Question Bank uses a separate category tree.
Organize quizzes by subject, exam, class, batch, course or topic so learners can find the right content.
Create and use a quiz category
- Sign in as Teacher with active dashboard access.
- Open Category → Add Category, fill the category details and save.
- If needed, create a child subcategory through category management, selecting the appropriate parent category.
- Open Quizzes → Add Quiz. Select your category, then a subcategory if useful, and save the quiz settings.
Useful information
Choose a useful structure
For example, use Mathematics as the category and Algebra/Geometry as subcategories, or a batch as the category with topic tests underneath. Avoid separate categories with the same meaning. With a small number of quizzes, a category alone can be enough.
Quiz categories versus bank categories
The main Category menu organizes published quizzes. My question bank → Manage Categories organizes stored reusable questions. A category created in one place does not automatically appear in the other. Bank questions require their own category, subcategory and difficulty.
Organization does not activate access
Creating a category does not add quiz questions, purchase a plan or publish a quiz. Check the category/quiz visibility, active questions, profile and plan before sharing. If a learner cannot find content, review visibility as well as its location.
