How is my monthly learner limit counted?
The limit counts unique learner accounts across your quizzes in the cycle.
One learner account counts once per educator plan cycle, for saved Standard/Live submissions across your quizzes. Practice does not consume these slots; this differs from a quiz attempt limit.
The allowance is shared across your quizzes in the cycle, not a separate quota for each quiz. Saved Standard/Live submissions by non-owner learner accounts determine the count. Your own use is excluded; Practice does not consume saved-attempt slots.
Example
At a 50-learner limit, 50 unique accounts can use your quizzes in the cycle. A counted learner’s further allowed attempts do not take another slot. A new 51st learner is blocked until capacity becomes available.
When full
- Already-counted learners can continue subject to quiz rules.
- New learners wait for the next monthly reset or your higher-limit upgrade.
- Check usage/reset date in dashboard or plan details. A successful upgrade starts a new learner-limit cycle.
Private access codes help restrict participation, but do not increase capacity.
The Individual plan’s one-learner allowance is for the same registered adult account’s own use, not an outside learner.

Learner versus attempt limit
One learner submitting three times uses one unique-learner slot, but three submissions toward that quiz’s own attempt limit. Starting another quiz does not create a new identity for that account.
Protecting capacity
Public quizzes can attract outside learners. Use codes for invited batches. Blocking restricts access; it does not erase a saved submission or promise a freed slot. Check actual usage/reset dates before assuming capacity changed.
A code cannot permit outside learners on the self-only Individual plan. Use an appropriate higher plan for batches.
