How to switch between Learner and Teacher role on Quiz Pathshala?

Learn how to switch your active role between Learner and Teacher and understand which features are available in each role.

Quiz Pathshala has two main roles:

  • Learner

  • Teacher

You can use the same account to access learner features and teacher features, depending on your active role.

What is an active role?

Your active role decides which section and features you are using at that time.

For example:

  • If your active role is Learner, you can attempt quizzes and view learner-related pages.

  • If your active role is Teacher, you can access teacher-related features such as quiz creation and teacher dashboard tools.

  • Accessing purchased category quizzes

  • Attempting educator-created public quizzes

  • Entering access code for private educator quizzes

  • Viewing saved quiz attempts

  • Opening My Attempts

  • Checking quiz results and performance

When should I use Teacher role?

  • Adding questions manually

Teacher Dashboard access may require a plan

Switching to Teacher role does not always mean full Teacher Dashboard access is active.

To use Teacher Dashboard features, you need an active teacher plan or an active free trial, if available and eligible.

If your teacher plan or trial is not active, the Teacher Dashboard may be locked.

Learner purchases and teacher plans are different

Learner category access and teacher dashboard plans are different.

Learner category access

Learner category access is used to attempt paid category quizzes as a learner.

Teacher plan

A teacher plan is used to create and manage quizzes from the Teacher Dashboard.

Buying learner category access does not automatically unlock Teacher Dashboard.

Buying a teacher plan does not automatically purchase paid learner categories.

Can I use both roles with the same account?

Yes. Every Quiz Pathshala account has both Learner and Teacher roles.

This means you can use the same account as a Learner and also as a Teacher.

For example:

  • If you mainly use Quiz Pathshala for learning, your account still has the Teacher role.

  • If you mainly use Quiz Pathshala for teaching, your account still has the Learner role.

You do not need to create separate accounts for learner and teacher use.

However, role availability and feature access are different things.

For example, you may be able to switch to Teacher role, but Teacher Dashboard features still require an active teacher plan or active free trial, if available and eligible.

However, your available features depend on:

  • Your active role

  • Your purchased learner category access

  • Your active teacher plan or trial

  • Platform rules and access settings

Why am I seeing the wrong dashboard?

You may be seeing a different dashboard because your active role is different.

For example:

  • If you want to attempt quizzes but your active role is Teacher, switch to Learner role.

  • If you want to create quizzes but your active role is Learner, switch to Teacher role.

Important note

Always check your active role before attempting a quiz or opening the Teacher Dashboard.

Every account has both Learner and Teacher roles, but available features depend on access, plan, purchase, and platform rules.

Learner role is mainly for attempting quizzes and viewing results.

Teacher role is mainly for creating quizzes, managing quiz settings, and reviewing learner attempts for teacher-created quizzes.
