Learn how learners can buy category access, unlock paid quizzes, and understand category duration on Quiz Pathshala.
Quiz Pathshala may provide free and paid quiz categories for learners.
If a category is paid, you need active category access to attempt its paid quizzes.
On the Categories page, a paid category may show two main buttons.
The Buy Now button takes you directly to the checkout page for that category.
You can use this option if you already want to purchase access to that category.
The View button opens the category page.
On this page, you may see subcategories, quizzes, free quizzes, locked quizzes, and category access details.
Follow these steps to buy access to a paid category.
Login to your Quiz Pathshala account and make sure your active role is Learner.
Then open the Categories page.
Find the category you want to purchase and click on the Buy Now button.
You will be redirected to the checkout page.
On the checkout page, check the category details carefully.
You may see:
Category name
Price
Access duration
Customer details required for checkout
Payment summary
Category access duration is shown on the checkout page.
Normally, the minimum duration may be 1 month.
Depending on the category pricing model, other durations may also be available, such as:
1 month
3 months
6 months
1 year
The price may change according to the selected duration.
After checking the details, click on the Proceed to Payment button.
This will open the Razorpay payment gateway.
Complete the payment using the available payment method.
After successful payment verification, category access will be activated for your learner account.
You can then attempt paid quizzes available inside that category during the active access period.
No. Learner category access is not auto-renewed.
Quiz Pathshala does not set AutoPay for learner category purchases.
If your category access expires, you need to renew or purchase access manually again.
For example:
If you buy 1 month access, you need to manually pay again after expiry.
If you buy 1 year access, you do not need to pay again for that category until the 1 year access period ends.
Quiz Pathshala may send an email reminder when your category access is close to expiry.
You can also open a paid category before buying it.
On the Categories page, click on the View button for the category.
Inside the category, you may see subcategories if they are available.
If subcategories are not available, quizzes may be shown directly.
A category will have at least one of these:
Subcategories
Quizzes
If subcategories are available, click on a subcategory to view quizzes inside it.
Inside a category, some quizzes may be free and some quizzes may be locked.
Free quizzes can be attempted by any logged-in Learner.
You do not need to purchase the category to attempt free quizzes.
Paid quizzes may appear in a locked state if you have not purchased that category.
To attempt locked quizzes, you need active access to that category.
Locked quizzes may show an Unlock button.
When you click the Unlock button on a locked quiz, you will be redirected to the checkout page for that quiz’s category.
No. The Unlock button does not unlock only that single quiz.
It asks you to purchase access to the full category.
After purchasing the category, all paid quizzes inside that category will be unlocked for your account during the active access period.
After successful purchase, paid quizzes inside that category will be unlocked.
You can then attempt any available quiz in that category, based on quiz type, schedule, attempt limit, and access rules.
If your payment is successful but category access is not active, wait for a short time and refresh the page.
If access is still not active, contact Quiz Pathshala support with payment details.

Category name
Payment date and time
Payment amount
Transaction ID or payment reference
Screenshot, if available
Always check the category name, price, duration, and payment details before completing payment.
Category access is purchased for the full category, not for a single quiz.
Free quizzes can be attempted without purchasing the category.
Locked quizzes become available after you purchase active access to that category.
Learner category purchases are manual and do not use AutoPay.
